Anaglyptic clay pattern is a wonderful way to add elegance, texture and interest to a feature wall. It gives the wall a 3D effect as the clay image is raised above the surfaces in low relief.

This technique is used to create a distinctive and memorable clay effect on the feature wall.

Generally, this process is most often employed to attract attention or convey a high quality textural contrast in relation to the surrounding area.

The term 'Anaglypta' comes from the Greek words 'Ana' (meaning raised) and 'Glypta' (meaning Cameo).

Anaglypta is, in fact, a trade name, but it has become common practice to use it as a generic name for embossed patterned wallpapers.

We use this term to describe embossed clay surfaces that provide similar three-dimensional raised effect on feature walls.

Our anaglyptic and embossed clay surfaces differ in one crucial detail.

When applying anaglyptic technique, we match up the embossed images in a precise geometrical pattern. Anaglyptic technique lends itself readily to the application of symmetry.

Our clients often prefer shapes that have some symmetry, but enough complexity to make them interesting.

The embossed surfaces are created in a more freestyle and improvised manner. Different sections of a single embossed surface are usually created in a more spontaneous manner, they do not line up strictly and symmetrically as anaglyptic patterns do.

Both anaglyptic and embossed clay surfaces come in a variety of different designs.
